Sabina Witt , Catalan Composer and Singer.

Studied classical guitar and piano since a very young age. Her first contact with vocal technique was studying lyric singing with Montserrat Benet, later on she studies Modern singing with Mireia Lara, Carme Cuesta and Ana Finger. At the same time she studies Grado Medio at the Aula del Liceu and completed her diploma in Voice Craft I and II.

She has gone to numerous seminaries and masterclasses of nacional an internacional artists such as Abe Rabade, Toni Belenguer, Paco Charlín, Luciana Souza, Sofía Ribeiro, Bob Stoloff, Pat Metheny, Chucho Valdés, Dave Holland or Richard Bonna.

On 2012 she graduates in Jazz singging at Barcelona’s Conservatorio Superior del Liceo.

During her career she has been given awards like: Vila-Seca Fair (en 2006 y en 2009) and Garcilaso’s competition of Acustic music (2003, Barcelona) and ‘ AIE de Jazz Tete Montoliu’ Scholarship (2011, Madrid).

She has colaborated in theater projects : El meu avi no va anar a Cuba by Victoria Szpunberg ( Grec Festival , Beckett Club and Curta Pared , Madrid, among many others), Simon de Beauvoir: l’Escriptura o la vida by Gloria Balanyà ( Bonnemaison Center ) and Standard by Marc Rosich ( Principal d’Olot Theater ).

She has acted as a soloist in numerous clubs, music halls and jazz festivals nationwide such as Jazz Festival of the Seville province, Barnasants Festival, Jazz Festival Tete Montoliu or Getxo’s Jazz Festival and she has sung internationally Japan, Argentina or Finland.

She has recorded in several musical projects like Gonzalo del Val’s Group, Toni Belenguer’s Quintet, Big Band of the Liceu, Octavio Bugni’s or Mosaico’s Jazz Trio.

She has released four discographic works of her own: Sabina Witt, ¿Lejos de Dónde? ( Inédito, 2005), Rubaiyyat by Sabina Witt/Juan Pablo Balcazar Project ( Fresh Sound New Talent, 2008), Vistes al Mar ( Inédito, 2014) and Chiquilladas pintorescas ( Jazz Granollers, 2015) chosen this last one to by part of Jazz from Catalonia 2016.

At this moment she is developing and going deeper in Les crisàlides, her last discographic work.
